What’s On My Plate (or In My Container)
A few things to first know about how I actually eat:
1. I often eat with my fingers,
2. I usually sit on the ground,
3. my “plate” is usually a reusable sturdy container, and
4. lately I’ve been using a Thai spoon I picked up in Thailand.
Today on my plate:
• Purple cabbage
• Cilantro
• Broccoli
• Orange and purple sweet potatoes
• Walnuts
• Almonds
The sweet potatoes were soft and tender, the raw broccoli and purple cabbage had a crunch, and the walnuts and almonds provided extra stimulation for my tongue that removed stuck pieces in my teeth.
It’s nourishing food to eat.
I share What’s On My Plate posts regularly because there is value in seeing what my daily eating looks like. There is value in witnessing a meal that provides nourishment and energy.
What’s in this meal today?
• Protein from walnuts and almonds
• Complex carbohydrates and fiber from broccoli, cabbage, and sweet potatoes
• Healthy fats from walnuts and almonds
• Vitamins, minerals, and natural sweetness from sweet potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, and cilantro
All are “real food” made by nature and nourishing to my mind, body, and emotions.
This meal is an example of how I eat: choosing food that supports me.
Eating well is possible.
Welcome to the meal.
