What It Takes To Look Carefree
It is common to see me walking wherever I am living or visiting. I enjoy experiencing life one step at a time at the pace of my feet. I get to smile and appreciate more of my immediate surroundings. This carefree attitude I exhibit comes with taking care of myself and my responsibilities first.
Because eating well is a priority for me, every morning I pack food for myself for the entire day. I spend most of my afternoons and evenings away from the house where I keep my food. Today in my tin reusable container, I packed a nutritious meal of pinto beans, ulu, greens, green beans, pesto, spicy jack cheese, and avocado. I also have a frozen smoothie I made days ago.
I carry my food items in a canvas bag with a frozen pack. My food gets to stay cool longer and I get to feel the cold of the frozen pack on my body as I walk. The bag can be heavy and becomes wet by the end of the day, but it is important to me to have nutritious food ready.
Besides my food bag, I also carry another canvas bag with specific items I might want to use. Some personal items I usually have with me are bathing suits, sunscreen, a sarong, and my ball. Work items I carry in my bag are a selfie stick, reading glasses, mini microphones, and my phones.
My carefree attitude comes from my belief to enjoy life, even with the challenges. When I am in public and can be seen smiling, laughing, and listening to music as I walk, that is a choice I am making. I am persevering. I am rejoicing and being grateful. And I am ready.
I am ready to eat and nourish my body because I did work in the morning, every morning, to make sure I would have a nutrient dense meal to pack. I did the work to shop for the food. I did the work to cook and store the food. I did and I do the work every day.
My carefree attitude is real, but it comes with work.
You are welcome to be prepared for your day.
