Loss Can Equal A Different Gain
This past month, I was preparing to record content with another creator. I speculated that six full days of content creation over a couple of summer months would bring in a significant amount of revenue. My focus this year is on increasing my income.
When the person was not at the airport when I went to pick him up, I laughed, cried a little, and understood better that I truly am blessed and protected. What is not meant for me does not make it to me.
I live in a place some people call paradise. Having someone come and stay with me is a privilege. As I have come to recognize, I am someone special to enjoy this life with. Not bragging. Simply recognizing what I have not always seen in myself: a person who adds value to others.
Because of the loss of one opportunity, I gained others. I began learning hands-on massage and touch healing. I participated in a 4-day AI introductory class which has inspired me to enroll in a 6-week AI course. I spent a full day with a dear friend who is my best friend’s daughter, someone I have known since the moment she was born. And I started a new video series project.
Because I had planned to step away from other responsibilities during my visitor’s stay, I suddenly had more time for myself. I rewrote parts of my organizational systems. I stayed up late dancing and working, then slept. I played ball and went on walks with four dogs. I made smoothies or cooked meals. I took an indoor shower and sat in a hot tub. And I stopped worrying about “what if I fail even though I’m not doing everything I want to do every day” — and just lived.
I am still keeping my commitments to the work I believe is important and the process of becoming the person I want to be in order to be a content creator for 20+ years. The people who get to be in my life are still in the process of becoming too.
When one door closes, another door doesn’t just open. When one door closes and you turn around to see what you are now open to, the possibilities are endless. Stay focused on your goals and intentions. Loss means something different.
Aloha

New Yoga Blog: Triangle Pose
When you watch this video, you will notice I only explain how to do Triangle Pose on one side of the body. The reason for this is I made a big mistake. I forgot to turn the front foot. It was so obvious.
