Learning Through Life
Because my months have been so full of momentum with completing tasks, honoring my commitments, and staying goal oriented, now that my body is sick and I barely have the energy to move and eat, my new focus is what are my real non-negotiables.
According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, a non-negotiable is “not open to discussion or reconsideration.”
According to Google, non-negotiables are “core values, beliefs, or behaviors that an individual refuses to compromise on in relationships, work, or personal life, acting as strict boundaries for happiness and well-being.”
During my recent work trip, I noticed I let my standards fall and boundaries be removed. I recognize this is a past pattern of wanting to please people and make everyone else happy.
Crazy. I can’t make everyone else happy, and I desire to please myself.
Pattern recognition is excellent. I now get to reprogram my brain on the high standards and boundaries I desire to have.
I’m sure I’ll have more to share soon about standards and boundaries as I intentionally take time this month to revamp mine and reflect on what my real non-negotiables are. I encourage you to also take time to reflect on your own personal standards, boundaries, and non-negotiables.
Aloha🌺😁
